Zone 21 is an area in which during normal activity it is possible for an atmosphere at risk of explosion to form, in the form of a cloud of dust or combustible fibres.

Zone 22 is an area in which during normal activity there is no atmosphere at risk of explosion, which can manifest itself, in exceptional conditions, in the form of a cloud of dust or combustible fibres.

Zone 1 is an area in which during normal activity it is possible for an atmosphere at risk of explosion to form, in the form of a cloud of gas, vapor or mists.

Zone 2 is an area in which during normal activity there is no atmosphere at risk of explosion, which can manifest itself, in exceptional conditions, in the form of a cloud of gas, vapors or mists.
